My first Ippodo experience was with Ummon, and that blew my socks off as many have reported.
I then moved to Siyaka. Pretty solid choice for everyday latte style matcha in my opinion.
I saw tons of discourse online about Horai and Siyaka. Despite Ippodo claiming they are the exact same varietals just different sizes, most who have tried both believe they taste quite different; I now agree. They do not taste alike. Horai is very light in flavor… I only taste the milk when I make a latte with it so I have to almost double the amount of matcha to get any flavor. It’s smooth, but I will not repurchase.
